  • Usually start 3 days before your expected period. 
  • Take one 5 mg tablet three times a day, exactly as prescribed. 
  • Continue for the number of days advised by your prescriber (up to 17 days in many cases). 
  • Swallow with water and take doses evenly throughout the day. 
  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for the next dose. Do not double up. 
  • Use contraception if required, as Norethisterone does not prevent pregnancy.

Less Common 

  • Fluid retention 
  • Changes in libido
